FAQS
PRODUCT FEATURES
We possess diverse products based on self-developed catalyst technology and synthesis process. Therefore, it’s possible to develop and supply customer grade that meets customer needs by combining diverse grade.
Bio-based plastics are made from renewable sources instead of petroleum, that can help to reduce the dependency on limited fossil resources. Moreover, some bio-based plastics that are biodegradable/compostable can degrade into CO2, water and biomass; which help to divert biowaste from landfill and increase waste management efficiency .
The most important differences come from 2 main factors:
– Compostability of products: Anbio materials are fully biodegradable in a short time (less than 1 year) under natural burial or industrial composting treatment. Meanwhile, conventional plastics take hundreds or even thousands of years to decompose.
– The content of harmful substances emitted in the environment during the decomposition process: The decomposition of Anbio materials produces humus, CO2 and water. Meanwhile, the decomposition of conventional plastic creates microplastics – very small matters which easily enter water sources as well as food chains of humans and animals.
Basically, biodegradable polymers are produced by esterification and polycondensation reactions between Alcohol Diol and Carboxylic diacid. Then, those polymers are compounded in addition of Thermoplastic Starch (TPS) or Inorganic filler like talc or limestone powder in different ratio to make Anbio biodegradable resins.
APPLICATIONS
Anbio materials can be applied to various products such as: bags (shopping bags, food bags, trash bags, etc.), injection products, fishing net/ fishing gear, and 3D filaments. Please check the product information for details.
Today, there is pretty much nothing that bioplastics can’t do. For almost every conventional plastic material and application, there is a bioplastic alternative available that offers the same or in some cases even better properties and functionalities.
Today, biodegradable bioplastics are mainly being used in the following market segments:
• Packaging (including flexible and rigid packaging)
• Consumer goods & household applicances
• Automotive & transport
• Building & construction
• Textiles
• Agriculture & horticulture
• Electronics & electrics
The processing of biodegradable bioplastic products can be completely used in the conventional machinery.
BIODEGRADATION
Biodegradation is a chemical process in which materials are metabolised to CO2, water, and biomass under the action of microorganisms. The process of biodegradation depends on the conditions. Consequently, the process and its outcome can vary considerably.
In order to be recovered by means of organic recycling (composting) a material or product needs to be biodegradable. Compostability is the ability of an organic material to transform into compost through the composting process under specific conditions (e.g. a certain temperature, timeframe, etc). These specific conditions are described in standards, such as ISO 17088, EN 13432, ASTM D6400.
